Asante Kotoko continued their disappointing run of form with yet another home loss, this time a 1-0 defeat to Nations FC on Matchday 23 of the Ghana Premier League. The only goal of the match came from Asamoah Boateng Afriyie, who headed in a cross from Emmanuel Boahene in the 45th minute, securing the win for Nations FC.

This defeat extended Asante Kotoko’s winless streak, as they were unable to secure a victory since their win against Bibiani Gold Stars on March 1st at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. Despite making efforts to find an equalizer in the second half, Asante Kotoko could not break through the Nations FC defense, ultimately conceding the match.

In another match, bottom-placed Real Tamale United (RTU) managed to secure a 1-0 victory over Accra Lions at the Golden City Park in Berekum. Mohammed Alhassan Munkuyeli scored the lone goal of the match from the penalty spot in the 31st minute, giving RTU their first win in six games.

Playing away from their home ground due to a ban for crowd violence, RTU came into the match with a determined mindset to secure a win. They started strong and were rewarded with a penalty after skipper Shawkan Hunalf Mohammed was fouled in the box by Munkuyeli, leading to the decisive goal.

At the Kpando Sports Stadium, struggling Heart of Lions fought back twice to secure a 2-2 draw against Bibiani Gold Stars. Gold Stars took the lead early on with a goal from Emmanuel Odai in the 12th minute, but Mustapha Yakubu equalized for Heart of Lions in the 40th minute. Odai scored again in the 63rd minute to put Gold Stars back in the lead, but a 77th-minute equalizer from substitute Akwasi Bentil Duah salvaged a point for Heart of Lions.

Overall, it was a day of mixed results in the Ghana Premier League, with Nations FC securing a crucial win over Asante Kotoko, RTU ending their winless streak with a victory over Accra Lions, and Heart of Lions fighting back to earn a draw against Bibiani Gold Stars. Despite the ups and downs, each team showed resilience and determination in their respective matches.
