Ghana: Minority caucus votes en bloc against Barari DV Ghana Lithium Mining agreement

All 87 members of the minority caucus in parliament yesterday, March 19, 2026, voted against the Barari DV Ghana lithium mining agreement, citing unaddressed concerns.

However, the motion was passed by the majority in parliament voted yes on the agreement.

The Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, told the House that his entire caucus could not support the ratification of the lease for lithium and mineral extraction at Mankessim.
