Former President John Mahama has expressed concern over the numerous unfinished projects in the Ashanti Region that have the potential to improve the lives of residents. He stressed the need for continuity and the provision of essential amenities and facilities to enhance the overall well-being of the people. Mahama also highlighted his dismay at the observation that several projects initiated by the NDC Government in 2016 have been left incomplete by the NPP.
Notable examples of these incomplete projects include the industrial hub at Adansi Fomena and the Obuasi Deeps Decline (ODD) projects, both initiated by the previous NDC administration between 2014 and 2016. Mahama pointed out that the ODD project was only six percent complete when the NDC concluded its term. He expressed his disconcert at the NPP taking credit for the benefits of the ODD project and emphasized the importance of acknowledging the origins of these projects. Mahama further expressed disappointment in the abandonment of these critical initiatives by the NPP.
Mahama has committed to ensuring comprehensive development in the Ashanti Region, with a focus on critical sectors such as education, healthcare, roads, and other infrastructural needs. His aim is to create an environment that fosters growth, attracts investment, and enhances the living standards of the residents.
Overall, Mahama’s remarks underscore the importance of completing and supporting projects that have the potential to improve the lives of residents in the Ashanti Region. He emphasized the need for continuity in governance and the provision of essential amenities and facilities to enhance the overall well-being of the people. By addressing critical sectors such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure, Mahama aims to create an environment conducive to growth and development in the region.
