The U-20 female national team, also known as the Black Princesses, will be participating in the Africa Games event at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium. As the hosts of the Women’s football event, the Black Princesses, who are the holders of the WAFU U-20 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, will be competing against Ethiopia, Tanzania, and Uganda in Group A.

Ghana will kick off their tournament with a match against Ethiopia on Saturday, March 9 at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium. They will then go on to face Tanzania on Tuesday, March 12, followed by a match against Uganda on Friday, March 15.

Coach Yussif Basigi’s team recently returned from France, where they camped in Clairefontaine for seven days as part of an exchange program between the France Football Federation (FFF) and the France Embassy in Accra. This training will undoubtedly have prepared the Black Princesses for their upcoming matches in the Africa Games event.

Furthermore, Ghana has qualified for their seventh consecutive FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after securing a spot by defeating Senegal. The team’s experience and success in previous tournaments will bring depth and confidence to their performance in the Africa Games event.

In the men’s category, the Black Satellites will be competing in Group A alongside Congo, The Gambia, and Benin at the Accra Sports Stadium. Coach Desmond Ofei’s team will start their campaign with a match against Congo on Saturday, March 9, followed by matches against The Gambia on Tuesday, March 12, and Benin on Saturday, March 16.

The Africa Games event, a continental multi-sport event held every four years, will take place at the Games Village in Borteyman, the Accra Sports Stadium, the University of Ghana stadium, and the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

It is clear that both the Black Princesses and the Black Satellites have been diligently preparing for the upcoming Africa Games event, and their participation is highly anticipated. With their recent training in France and their impressive qualifications for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, both teams are ready to represent Ghana with determination and skill in the upcoming matches at the Africa Games event.
