The National Patriotic Party (NPP) at its National Executive Committee and National Council meetings held on Monday, February 19, 2024, approved a proposed structure for the Party’s 2024 national campaign. The General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, in a statement, announced that they have appointed individuals to serve on the various national campaign committees.
One of the key committees is the National Campaign Coordinating Committee (NCCC), which shall oversee the work of all other Committees. It shall be chaired by the 2024 Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and assisted by the Vice Presidential Candidate. The National Chairman, General Secretary, and the Regional Chairpersons shall also serve on the National Campaign Coordinating Committee.
The NCCC will oversee various committees and subcommittees that will handle different aspects of the campaign. These subcommittees include the Campaign Advisory Committee, which will have members such as H.E John Agyekum Kufuor, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, all members of the National Council of Elders, Frederick Worsemao Blay, and Akosua Frema Osei Opare.
Other subcommittees include the Campaign Communications Directorate, chaired by Dennis Edward Miracles Aboagye, with other members such as Yaw Adomako Baafi and Akbar Khorneni. The Finance and Fund-Raising subcommittee will be chaired by Frank Davies, with Gary Nimako Marfo as the deputy.
The list is extensive, outlining the various subcommittees and the respective individuals who will be responsible for key roles in the campaign team of Dr. Bawumia. Each of these subcommittees is given a specific role, such as coordinating different geographic zones, identifiable groups, and parliamentary campaigns.
The NPP’s decision to establish a comprehensive national campaign structure well ahead of the 2024 elections underscores its commitment to a well-organized and strategic approach to the upcoming elections. It reflects the party’s emphasis on effective campaign management and the involvement of key party figures in steering the campaign in different capacities.
The appointment of individuals with diverse expertise and experience to lead the various subcommittees suggests a strategic approach to ensuring that the party’s message and campaign activities resonate with a broad range of voters across the country. The presence of notable figures in the party, including former Presidents and national executives, on the advisory committees reinforces the collaborative and inclusive nature of the NPP’s approach to campaign tactics and strategies.
By outlining the detailed structure of the campaign team, the NPP aims to demonstrate transparency and preparedness for the 2024 elections. This comprehensive approach is likely to enhance the party’s overall campaign coordination, communication, and fundraising efforts, as well as provide a solid platform for engagement with various interest groups and geographic regions throughout the country.
