Mrs Felecia Tettey, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Sagnarigu Constituency in the Northern Region, has taken the initiative to improve access to potable water in her constituency by rehabilitating boreholes and dredging dams in several communities. This initiative aims to relieve the suffering of the people who struggle to access clean drinking water on a daily basis. The beneficiary communities include Kogni, Katariga, Yong Duuni, Dabogshe Yilonaayili, Bogkurigu, Sorugu, Zagyuri, and Garizegu in the Sagnarigu constituency.

In an interview with the Ghanaian Times, Mrs Tettey emphasized that the construction of boreholes in these communities would help minimize the spread of water-borne diseases and alleviate the scarcity of water. She expressed her concern for mothers who have to trek long distances in search of water, and her commitment to expanding these projects to ensure every community has access to clean water.

Mrs Tettey has been carrying out similar projects for the past five years and has already constructed over 100 boreholes in the constituency. The dredging of dams is crucial as these water sources are vital for the communities’ survival. Mrs Tettey stressed the importance of solving the water crisis and ensuring sustainable access to clean water for all residents.

In addition to constructing boreholes and dredging dams, Mrs Tettey has provided water tankers to temporarily supply water to the constituency. She assured the communities of her dedication to finding a lasting solution to the water crisis and called for unity and cooperation from the people to support development efforts in the constituency.

The communities expressed their gratitude to Mrs Tettey for her support in addressing their water needs. The dams will not only provide water but also serve as a source of irrigation, benefiting the residents in multiple ways. Leaders in the communities, including Nyeb Garizegu Silimboma Naa and Hajia Salamatu Mahama, commended Mrs Tettey for her efforts and promised their continued support for her initiatives.

Overall, Mrs Felecia Tettey’s commitment to improving access to clean water in the Sagnarigu Constituency highlights the importance of community development and collaboration. Her sustainable projects aim to address the longstanding water crisis in the area and provide lasting solutions for the residents. Through her dedication and support from the communities, Mrs Tettey is working towards a brighter future with improved access to potable water for all.
