John Kumah, the Member of Parliament for Ejisu in the Ashanti Region on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), tragically passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024. His wife, Apostle Mrs. Lilian Kumah, revealed that his death was not due to food poisoning as some had speculated but rather the result of a terminal illness diagnosed by doctors in Germany almost a year ago.

As the General Overseer of Disciples of Christ Ministries, Apostle Mrs. Lilian Kumah made a heartfelt plea for those spreading rumors about her husband’s death to stop, emphasizing the additional pain it brings to her family. She specifically mentioned Blessed Godsbrain Smart, also known as Captain Smart, who publicly claimed that John Kumah was poisoned without any evidence to support his allegations.

In a sorrowful tone, Apostle Lilian Kumah called for swift police intervention against individuals like Captain Smart who make baseless accusations that tarnish her husband’s legacy. She questioned Captain Smart’s audacity in making bold claims about someone who dedicated his life to serving his country and the NPP.

Emphasizing the need for legal action, Apostle Lilian Kumah urged the authorities to hold Captain Smart accountable and demand proof for his unfounded allegations. She demanded answers from Captain Smart regarding his allegations that her husband succumbed to poisoning, filing an official complaint with the Ghana Police Service to ensure he substantiates his claims.

Expressing her frustration, Apostle Lilian Kumah questioned why someone would boldly claim that John Kumah, who served his country and party faithfully, was poisoned without facing consequences. She expressed her sadness over the false claims made by Captain Smart and the lack of action taken against him.

John Kumah, known to his constituents as lawyer John Kumah, was a man of integrity who championed job creation and instilled hope for the future in Ejisu, Ashanti Region. He passed away at the age of 45 after a brief illness, leaving behind his wife, Apostle Mrs. Lilian Kumah, and six children.

Apostle Lilian Kumah and John Kumah’s legacy as dedicated public servants and pillars of their community will be remembered and cherished by all who knew them. Their family and supporters continue to mourn the loss of a beloved husband, father, and leader.
