The Aiders Hub Foundation is a non-governmental organization with a mission to provide financial assistance to patients facing costly medical conditions and surgeries. The foundation was recently launched in Accra, focusing on the theme of ‘Charity as a Social Responsibility.’ The event also aimed to gather funds to support a current project involving a two-year-old girl diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot (Hole in Heart).
The Director of the Aiders Hub Foundation, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Hassan, highlighted the foundation’s vision to be a beacon of hope for individuals and families in challenging circumstances. He shared a touching story from 2016 when, as a medical student at the University of Ghana Medical School and the National Ghana Muslim Students Association President, their team came across a little girl named Kadira in Belerkope, a community in the Eastern Region of Ghana. Kadira was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot in infancy, and the team embarked on a fundraising campaign to cover the cost of her corrective surgery, which was successfully completed.
Since then, the Aiders Hub Foundation has mobilized support for various projects, including surgeries for conditions like Blounts Disease, kidney transplants, hernia repairs, excision of breast lumps, and payment of medical bills for stranded patients. The Acting Board Chairperson, Hajia Safuratu Mohammed Andani, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve on the board and pledged to ensure the smooth running of the NGO.
The Guest Speaker, Sheikh Armiyaw Shuaib, emphasized the importance of charity and saving lives, quoting a verse from the Holy Quran. He encouraged Muslims to play a leading role in supporting initiatives like the Aiders Hub Foundation. The Chairman, Pishigu Naa Alhassan Andani, commended the foundation’s work and pledged support, with the Zakat and Sadaqat Trust Fund collaborating closely to achieve the vision and mission.
The event was attended by several dignitaries and board members, including Dr. Marzuk Mohammed Azindoo, Naa Alhaji Issah Abdulai Munkaila, Malgu Naa Iddrisu-Sika, Daniyal Abdul Karim, Hajj Gibrine Adam, Hajia Muniratu Iddi, Hajia Salamatu Futa, Dr. Abdallah Hadi, Engr Alhaji Iss-hak Omar, Dr. Adam Yunus, and Professor Naail Muhammed Kamil.
