Agritech West Africa, Food & Beverage Ghana, and FoodPack Tech Ghana exhibition have officially launched this year. The event aims to provide a platform for discussing agriculture and agribusiness while showcasing solutions, products, and technologies. Organized by Wegvoraus Exhibitions in collaboration with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture and the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the program is scheduled for March 19-21.

With an expected attendance of 5000 businesses and visitors, the exhibition is supported by various industry organizations such as the West Africa Chamber of Agriculture, Croplife Ghana, Association of Ghana Industries, Ghana Union of Traders, Food and Beverage Association of Ghana, Farmer Organisation Network of Ghana, Federation of Association of Ghanaian Exporters, and Guzakuza.

During the launch in Accra, Thomas James, the Project Director of Agritech West Africa, emphasized the importance of the exhibition for companies in the agriculture, food, and beverage sectors to showcase their technologies. The primary goal is to help local companies establish partnerships and expand their businesses.

According to Mr. Thomas, the expo will serve as a platform for international exhibiting companies to interact with Ghanaian and West African business partners, including growers, manufacturers, and traders/distributors. This collaboration will facilitate discussions on new products, business partnerships, and the introduction of innovative practices in agriculture and food processing.

The event will feature seminars and conferences over two days, bringing together government ministries, commercial farmer groups, research institutions, trade associations, and chambers of commerce to discuss ideas, innovations, and current issues in the industry. Mr. James highlighted the alignment of the event with the Ghana government’s development goals, focusing on value-added agriculture, national economic growth, and food security.

Approximately 5000 business and professional visitors directly or indirectly related to the agribusiness sector are expected to attend the exhibition. This includes commercial and small farmers, farmer groups, importers, distributors, and wholesalers showcasing agricultural equipment, technologies, and solutions.

Dr. Joseph Obeng, President of Ghana Traders Union (GUTA), praised the organizers for creating such an opportunity for businesses to showcase their products. He emphasized the importance of such programs in exploring new markets and sources of products.

In conclusion, the Agritech West Africa, Food & Beverage Ghana, and FoodPack Tech Ghana exhibition serves as a crucial platform for advancing agriculture, promoting agribusiness, and fostering partnerships within the industry. The event is set to drive innovation, collaboration, and growth in the agricultural sector, in line with the development goals of the Ghanaian government.
