The registration deadline for the 2024 Accra City Doubles Open tennis championship is fast approaching, with registration set to close at the end of the day. Organized by Grandmaster Tennis Events and overseen by Mr. Peter Annan, the CEO, the tournament is scheduled to take place from April 18-27 at the Accra Lawn Tennis Club (ALTC).
In a recent interview with the Times Sports, Mr. Annan emphasized the importance of players completing their registration before the deadline in order to be included in the draw of matches. He encouraged any remaining players who have not yet signed up to do so promptly.
As of the latest update, nearly a hundred doubles teams have already registered for the championship, with participants competing in various age categories. Additionally, there are 24 teams signed up for the Mixed Doubles event, showcasing a diverse group of talented players.
Some of the notable pairs that have registered include Rahman Ablorh/Emily Stoiber, George Heckson/Linda Osaka Jones, Nana Poku/Yaa Jesiwaa Quansah, and Stephen Borteye/Faustina Tagoe. Other teams to watch out for include David Carreras/Akuorkor Quartey, Alfred Okang/Emefa Nukpe, and Prince Ablorh/Kate Coleman, among many others.
The lineup also features pairs such as Thomas Ohene-Effah/Evelyn Enunwah, Caleb Asante/Adubea Sarkodie, Fumina Saito/partner, and Sima Deep/Alipt Ash. Dr. Naji Hage and partner, Richard Odum Mensah/Afia Oforiwaa Aboagye, George Mills/Rachael Tagoe, and David Naawu/Naa Ayorkor Ofoli are also set to compete in the championship.
Other participants include Richmond Kotey/Shemimah-Cobblah, Prince Tettey/Judith Oforiwaa, Barry Lord/Frances Lola, Nana K Sam Awortwi/Linda Sedinam, and Alex Mensah/Akweley Quartey. Additionally, Isaac Odoom/Sara Holst, Frederick Andoh/Gillian Hammah, and George De Souza/Yvonne Tetteh are among the pairs eagerly gearing up for the tournament.
