The People’s Movement for National Unity (PMNU) has distanced itself from political remarks made by its Chief Executive Officer, Modou Turo Darboe, reaffirming its non-partisan position.

In a statement issued on 6 February 2026, the organisation said Darboe’s announcement of plans to enter politics in April was made in his personal capacity and does not reflect the movement’s agenda or official position.
