Omar Gaye, Public Relations Officer of the Gambia Artisanal Fisheries Association, has welcomed the government’s proposed six-month night fishing ban but cautions that without strong enforcement, clear regulations, and equal treatment for all fishing sectors, the ban will be ineffective.
