The Life of the Holy Prophet(sa) – Incidents During the Battle of Uhud
After reciting the Tashahhud, Ta’awwuz, and Surah al-Fatihah, His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad(aba), began to highlight incidents from the Battle of Uhud. One of the key incidents was the confusion caused to the Muslims during the battle. His Holiness(aba) narrated how the Muslims abandoned their station on the mound, allowing the disbelievers to launch a fierce attack from the rear. Despite the chaos, the Holy Prophet(sa) remained steadfast and patient, calling out to his companions to return to the battlefield and fight.
Hazrat Mirza Bashir Ahmad(ra) wrote about a group of companions led by Abdullah bin Jubair(ra) who disobeyed the Holy Prophet’s(sa) orders and left their positions on the mountain pass. This allowed the enemy, led by Khalid bin Walid and Ikramah bin Abu Jahl, to attack the Muslims from the rear, causing confusion and panic within the Muslim army. Some Muslims even began to attack each other in the chaos.
The Holy Prophet(sa) himself was injured during the battle when rocks struck him, causing the hooks of his helmet to lodge in his face, and he fell unconscious. False news spread among the disbelievers that the Holy Prophet(sa) had been martyred, adding to the chaos and loss suffered by the Muslims.
Despite these challenges, the Holy Prophet(sa) displayed incredible bravery and steadfastness during the Battle of Uhud. He stood his ground, shooting arrows and throwing stones at the enemy, even when surrounded by thousands. His fearlessness and bravery were evident as he fought tirelessly to defend his companions and the Muslim army.
His Holiness(aba) also highlighted the funeral prayers of Dr. Muhammad Jalal Shams, a dedicated missionary who recently passed away. Dr. Shams was known for his intelligence and dedication to serving the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. He served in Pakistan, studied the Turkish language in Islamabad, and obtained a PhD in Turkish language in Turkey. He then served as a missionary in the UK and Germany, leading the Turkish Desk in the UK until his demise.
Dr. Shams’ commitment to his faith was demonstrated when he turned down a lucrative job offer in Istanbul to continue his missionary work. He was imprisoned in Turkey in 2002 for preaching the message of Islam Ahmadiyya but continued his work translating the Holy Qur’an and other books into Turkish.
In conclusion, the incidents during the Battle of Uhud highlight the bravery, steadfastness, and sacrifice of the Holy Prophet(sa) and his companions. Despite facing overwhelming odds and betrayal from some of his own followers, the Holy Prophet(sa) remained resolute in his mission and led the Muslims with courage and determination. The example set by the Holy Prophet(sa) and his companions continues to inspire and guide believers today.
