Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (PANA) – Morocco was elected on Wednesday to a two-year term on the African Union Peace and Security Council (AU-PSC) following a first-round vote held during the 48th Ordinary Session of the AU Executive Council in Addis Ababa.

According to a statement issued by the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, the Kingdom secured more than two-thirds of the votes, obtaining a total of 34 votes.
