The Minister of Public Service, Administrative Reforms, Policy Coordination, and Delivery, Hon. Baboucarr Bouy, recently praised the just-concluded internal retreat of the Ministry of Public Service as a success. The retreat, held at Jerre Camp Lodge in Sita Nunku, Upper Nuimi District of North Bank Region, was organized by the Civil Service Reforms and Planning Unit (CSRPU) within the Ministry of Public Service. The primary objective of the 3-day retreat was to discuss the sector’s five-year strategic plan covering the period from 2024 to 2029 and to chart the future course of the Ministry of Public Service.
During the closing session of the retreat, Minister Bouy expressed his satisfaction with the proceedings. He commended the drafting committee, led by the CSRPU, for their diligent work in compiling the outcomes of the retreat into a comprehensive document. Minister Bouy emphasized the importance of having a clear direction for the Ministry of Public Service, as it plays a crucial role in policy coordination, administrative reforms, and service delivery. He stressed that without a clear direction, the Ministry would lack the moral authority to demand accountability from other ministries in fulfilling their mandates.
Minister Bouy highlighted the dual purpose of the retreat, stating that it not only served as an opportunity for participants to engage in academic discussions but also fostered social interactions among colleagues. He emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in achieving the goals set during the retreat, noting that success could only be achieved through unity and togetherness.
The retreat was a platform for participants to learn new insights, exchange ideas, and strengthen relationships within the Ministry of Public Service. Minister Bouy acknowledged the effort put in by all participants and encouraged them to incorporate the knowledge gained from the retreat into their respective roles within the Ministry.
Overall, the Minister described the internal retreat as a success, indicating that the objectives were met, and valuable discussions took place. The retreat served as a stepping stone in shaping the future direction of the Ministry of Public Service and setting a clear path for achieving the goals outlined in the strategic plan for the next five years.
In conclusion, the Minister thanked all participants for their active engagement and contribution to the success of the retreat. He reiterated the importance of unity, collaboration, and clarity of purpose in driving the Ministry of Public Service towards effective policy coordination, administrative reforms, and service delivery. The Minister’s positive feedback on the retreat reflects the commitment of the Ministry of Public Service to achieving excellence in its operations and fulfilling its mandate to the public.
