Faced with rising uncertainty over the future of The Gambia’s Mangrove REDD+ Project, dozens of beneficiaries gathered on Monday at the Mansakonko Area Council, Soma in Lower River Region to make an emotional and urgent appeal to the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Natural Resources (MECCNAR).

Their main appeal to the authorities is to restore the project that has transformed lives, supported livelihoods, and revitalized entire communities.
