The Director of Good Governance at the Ministry of Local Government and Lands, Mr. David Gomez, recently commended the Brikama Area Council (BAC) for launching the West Coast Region (WCR) on a positive trajectory of development. At a ceremony organized by BAC to distribute D14M to 28 wards in WCR, Mr. Gomez praised the council for their efforts in fostering development in the region.
During his speech, Mr. Gomez expressed his ministry’s support for BAC in achieving its development goals. He emphasized the importance of proper implementation of projects and assured that his ministry would closely monitor the progress of the projects to ensure their successful completion.
According to Mr. Gomez, Section 603(1) of the Local Government Act mandates local governments to bring development to their people, and he commended BAC for fulfilling this crucial mandate.
