The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) said on Monday that voter identification cards issued in 2016 are invalid and cannot be used for the 2026–2027 electoral cycle, amid what it described as misinformation online.
The Commission stated that the 2016 voter cards were declared null and void before the 2021 General Registration of Voters and therefore have no legal effect in upcoming elections.
