Foreign journalists from around the world recently attended the launch ceremony of the “Travelogue of China” in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, emphasizing the importance of cultural exchange and understanding. This initiative, organized by the China Public Diplomacy Association and huanqiu.com, aimed to showcase China’s economic development and cultural richness to international media professionals.
A total of 33 journalists from 32 different countries and regions, including Morocco, Egypt, Namibia, Tunisia, South Sudan, and Benin, participated in a week-long journey through Jiangsu Province. They visited various high-tech industrial parks, engineering projects, and cultural sites to gain a better understanding of China’s progress in different fields.
The journalists were particularly impressed by the technological advancements showcased at the Xishan Electric Vehicle Industrial Park, where they experienced Yadea electric vehicles. These vehicles, which are exported to over 100 countries, highlighted China’s innovation in sustainable mobility solutions. The journalists also visited the Hodo Group, a leading player in the clothing, tire, and pharmaceutical industries, known for its smart factory that utilizes 5G technology for real-time monitoring and customization of clothing.
In addition to smart factories, the journalists had the opportunity to witness large-scale engineering projects such as the ecological dredging project for the Meiliang Lake area of Taihu Lake. They were introduced to the “Taihu Star,” an ecological dredging platform ship that efficiently removes sediment from the lake, showcasing China’s commitment to environmental preservation.
Another highlight of the trip was the visit to the Changtai Yangtze River Bridge, a remarkable engineering feat that integrates high-speed highway, intercity railway, and regular roadway sections. The journalists were amazed by the precision and efficiency demonstrated in the construction process, reflecting China’s advanced capabilities in infrastructure development.
The journalists also had the chance to explore the world’s largest manufacturing base for tunnel boring machines operated by CCCC Tianhe Co. These machines, essential for tunnel construction, are designed with energy efficiency and environmental protection in mind, showcasing China’s dedication to sustainable development practices.
Overall, the journalists’ trip to Jiangsu Province provided them with valuable insights into China’s new quality productive forces and its commitment to innovation and sustainable development.
