The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat – USA, represented by Muhammad Ahmad Chaudhry and Tahir Ahmad Sarwar under the Tahir and Muhammad Foundation (TMF), recently carried out a distribution of food items to needy Muslims in the North Bank Region (NBR). This act of generosity in the holy month of Ramadan included 33 bags of 50kg rice, 30 gallons of 5 liters of cooking oil, and 10 kilos of sugar. Each beneficiary also received D1500 as fish money, totaling D168,000.

The distribution took place in Njawara and Chogen Misira of Lower Badibou North in the Region. Baba F Trawall, the Amir of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat The Gambia, emphasized the commitment of the Jamaat to the propagation and teaching of Islam. He highlighted the importance of caring and sharing, especially during the sacred month of Ramadan. Amir Trawally encouraged Muslims to uphold the teachings of Islam, believing that it would strengthen their religious beliefs.

Oustass Muhammad Sinayoko, an Ahmadiyya Jamaat Missionary in Guinea Bissau and chairman of the Foundation, commended the donors for their foresight. He noted that the construction of a Masjid and borehole in the community of Chogen Misira had helped address challenges for worshippers, particularly after the Masjid was destroyed in a heavy incident in 2021. Speaking on the distribution of food items during Ramadan, Oustass Sinayoko stated that it would supplement household food and nutrition security.

Foday Gasama, the Regional President of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat NBR, praised the efforts of the donors in supporting the construction of the Masjid and their overall support to Muslims in the region. He urged beneficiaries to value supporting each other, in line with the teachings of the holy books. Chief Fabala Fadia Kinteh, Chief of Lower Badibou, expressed gratitude to the Jamaat for their humanitarian assistance to humanity. He acknowledged that the distribution of rice, sugar, and oil to Muslims during fasting demonstrated the Jamaat’s commitment to the teachings of Islam.

The community of Chogen Misira also expressed their appreciation for the Jamaat’s unwavering support, particularly highlighting the construction of a standard Masjid and borehole in the area. Ebou Ndow, speaking on behalf of the community, thanked the Jamaat for their donations and elaborated on their continued support to the Muslim ummah.
