Dieudonné Minlama Mintogo, former presidential candidate in the 2016 election, listed two conditions for the success of the inclusive national dialogue in a statement.
According to him, in addition to other resolutions, it is necessary to outline the contours of a Truth, Justice, Forgiveness and Reconciliation Commission tasked with settling the heavy legacy of injustice, violence, exclusion, fears, abuses and compensating the victims.
He also proposes to objectively and courageously define the role of defense and security forces in the democratic framework in Gabon.
The implementation of these conditions will lead to the advent of a “Gabon worthy of envy” and the organization of “free and transparent elections”, he argues.
Opened during a grand ceremony on April 2 at the Sports Palace, the dialogue is taking place at the Amitié Stadium in Angondjè in the north of Libreville until April 30, according to the official schedule. They are supervised by the Archbishop of Libreville, Monseigneur Jean Patrick Iba-ba. This clergyman was personally appointed by the Transition President, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguéma.
