The Vice President of Dynamique unitaire (DU), responsible for unionization and General Delegate of the National Convention of Trade Unions of the educational system (CONASYSED), Alain Mouangouadi has been missing since Friday afternoon, the union announced in a statement.

The trade unionist participated in a meeting granted to Dynamique unitaire by the Minister of Public Service on Friday, March 1, 2024 in the middle of the day.

At the end of the meeting, Alain Mouangouadi hurried to return home aboard a Rav4 vehicle borrowed from a colleague. At 6:15 pm, he called his colleague to return the vehicle. It was his last sign of life.

The trade unionist’s phones remained open until Saturday morning without anyone answering the numerous calls from his comrades and his wife.

“Dynamique Unitaire calls on the national and international public opinion to witness and calls for the mobilization of all,” the statement said.

“This disappearance is mysterious because on Saturday, March 2, 2024 in the morning, CONASYSED is holding an important general assembly at the Martine OULABOU primary school in Libreville that Alain MOUAGOUADI is supposed to lead,” the statement said.

According to a family source contacted by Gabonactu.com, Alain Mouangouandi received threats from an alleged security source. He was accused of calling for mobilization for the general assembly scheduled for Saturday at the Martine Oulabou public school.
