Journalists and information professionals from African radio, silent for 8 years, are easily recognizable by green vests stamped AFRICA N°1. From the press room dedicated to representatives of accredited press and media organizations at the inclusive national dialogue, the members of the African radio desk, carefully selected, are busy collecting, processing, and broadcasting, now live from the Angondjé stadium since Tuesday.

There are about ten of them, including journalists, presenters, and technicians who have been called back to the ‘sacred duty’ to give a special touch to the facts and echoes of the inclusive national dialogue on the airwaves of the public service radio.

On the modulated frequencies of Radio Gabon (88.7 and 96.5), AFRICA N°1 Gabon version has three (3) time slots for broadcasts. In the morning (8am-9am), at midday (1pm-2pm), and in the evening (6pm-7pm). “The programs are not lacking in relevance, interest, and added value on Radio Gabon, which is gaining in colors and editorial content richness,” says Ludovic Koumba, one of the main hosts of the AFRICA N°1 special broadcast.

The programs are precisely tailored, according to the specified time slots, to reflect the mosaic of the nation’s driving forces called upon to rethink Gabon during the inclusive national dialogue, starting with fifteen-minute news editions during the broadcast time to inform as widely, exhaustively, and objectively as possible about the news and events of the dialogue.

Two segments have been dedicated to Gabonese people in the diaspora: ‘The diaspora moment’ (by Daniella Mengue) and ‘diaspora echoes’ (Prince Essone Mfule Nze). Through ‘The behind the scenes of the dialogue’ Ludovic Koumba and Maurice Bouyomba, provide some useful information, brief gossip, scents, and colors of the dialogue.

‘The stakes of the dialogue’, ‘the interview’ and ‘the political history of Gabon’, complement the program for the special national dialogue on AFRICA N°1 Gabon version, with the press review offered in the morning segment by François Duc Moukwanguy. AFRICA N°1 now broadcasts in situ, since Tuesday, from a specially equipped studio with state-of-the-art equipment in one of the dressing rooms at the Angondjé stadium.

These programs are supposed to end on April 30, 2024, the date of the closing ceremony of the inclusive national dialogue. After that, we don’t know.

This special program on AFRICA N°1 Gabon version is coordinated by Fanny Ella Assa, a clear and familiar voice on the African Radio, currently serving as communication advisor to the Prime Minister, Head of Government.
