Taking stock of the workday within the commissions and sub-commissions, in his traditional press briefing on Tuesday, the spokesperson of the inclusive national dialogue, Bishop Jean Bernard Asseko Mve, indicated that work will be suspended on Wednesday to resume on Thursday, April 11 at the usual hours.
In his communication, the spokesperson of the Angondjé assembly justifies this break by the fact that Wednesday, April 10 is declared a public holiday, due to the celebration of the end of Ramadan fast by the Muslim community.
Jean Bernard Asseko Mve nevertheless shed some light on certain data from the progress of the work over the past 48 hours, particularly within two (2) of the four (4) sub-commissions of the economic commission.
This concerns the employment sub-commission where “commissioners are discussing in particular the emergency plan to be put in place within 5 years, concerning full employment for all and the means of promoting entrepreneurial culture in Gabon. This will be based on the development of a public policy on employment,” he explained.
At the same time and still within the employment sub-commission, delegates “are working on measures to improve the labor code in the Gabonese Republic, as well as on the establishment and definition of a policy for recruiting public servants,” it was learned.
In the same economic commission, the agriculture and environment sub-commission “addressed the themes of pollution and waste management on the one hand, and the thematic of urban environment and local development on the other,” said Bishop Jean Bernard Asseko Mve.
More than six hundred (600) delegates, from Gabon and the diaspora, are divided into twelve (12) sub-commissions overseen by three (3) commissions: political, economic, and social. The reports of all commissions must be validated no later than April 24, before the adoption of the general report of the work between April 25 and 27, 2024.
The closure of the inclusive national dialogue is scheduled for April 30, 2024 at the Palais des Sports in Libreville.
