The Socialist People’s Emancipation Movement (MESP) of Jean-Victor Mouang’ Mbading does not want yet another dialogue, a repetitive consultation on the same issues that have been discussed many times without concrete results. The MESP aims to place the ‘revolutionalization’ of institutions at the heart of the expected concerns.
Speaking to our colleagues at Gabon 1ère, the President of the Socialist People’s Emancipation Movement refuses to participate in the upcoming dialogue in April if it does not differ from previous meetings that have marked Gabon’s political history since the national conference of 1990.
Jean-Victor Mouang’ Mbading demands that the agenda of the future national inclusive dialogue be innovative and depart from the usual paths by addressing exclusively the political, military, cultural, economic, and financial sovereignty of Gabon.
Issues related to ‘revolutionalization’, rather than the restoration of institutions, should occupy a central place during the future national inclusive dialogue. According to the president of MESP, these issues are at the root of the problems that Gabon is facing.
According to the decree by the President of the Transition, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguéma, the national inclusive dialogue will take place from April 2 to 30. It will be chaired by the Archbishop of Libreville, Mgr Jean Patrick Iba-Ba, surrounded by religious leaders. A total of 580 Gabonese, including those from the diaspora, are expected to attend this meeting whose purpose is to reform the country’s institutions.
