Today the case of the old people who continue to taunt the people under the watchful eye of the CTRI. Enjoy reading!
Have we really escaped from the regime that ‘idiotized’ us for more than half a century? I doubt it.
We suffered under this regime, totalitarian, corrupt, cynical, and led by cardboard despots, people without substance who shamelessly presented themselves as the guardians of the Temple, untouchables, Ayatollahs who looked down on their fellow citizens with the disdain of little s***s.
You had to see them in their postures, with bling-bling in tow. To be honest, I have the feeling that despite the arrival of the coup leaders in whom the Gabonese placed all their trust to oust the Bongos following a deal with foreign forces operating the machinery, it’s business as usual.
Nothing changes, everything remains stagnant, as if the whole country was under anesthesia. The same criticized flaws persistently take root.
Influence peddling, corruption at all levels, embezzlement elevated to an initiatory rite, the modern-day barbarians are still in power, undeterred despite the targeted strikes from the Committee for the Transition and Restoration of Institutions (CTRI).
With the advent of the “Ctists”, I stupidly believed that this type of individuals who pollute the public administration would be neutralized. Curiously, they are still there, sitting tightly in soft chairs, symbols of their omnipotence.
Most of them assert an inheritance: ‘son of; daughter of, relative of, nephew of the minister or the president of the Republic…, an existence by proxy. Their identities are proudly associated with the function of their parents in office.
Potential worthy avatars of their parents. Gabonese Plan B’s. Nothing to do with what could be called the real Plan B… which allowed Bassirou Diomaye Faye to win the Senegalese presidential election when his mentor, Ousmane Sonko, had been insidiously ruled out of the race.
The coup leaders had promised to track down, with a long-range strategic weapon, a ‘Satan 2’-type, through a vast investigation, all the plunderers, wherever they hide, who prowl the public administration. So far, apart from a few knuckleheads incarcerated at Gros bouquet, nothing has been done. The majority of them are still at large and continue to enjoy their perks.
Recently, the men in uniform, through their spokesperson, issued a statement banning the abusive use of the portrait of Moïse Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema. This statement was necessary because at this rate, one wouldn’t be surprised to see fabrics and thongs printed with his effigy… in the time of OBO, we had all this playful gadgetry.
So, this infected folklore had to be stopped. All of this can be attributed to measures with no real impact on the country’s progress.
We await the CTRI where there is urgency. But, between us, if profito-situationists abuse his image as a messiah who came to liberate Gabon from the tyrannical power of the Bongos, he should be pleased, considering that, just like during the Bongo era, he accepts that our mothers and daughters dance under the sun during his so-called republican festivities.
Gabonese people expect strong actions, not these small measures that put them in a trance. If this is how the CTRI intends to restore institutions, I am afraid that the major national palaver scheduled for this month will bring no real changes!
