The High Council of Non-State Actors (HCANEG) has, in a statement, urged all participants in the upcoming Inclusive National Dialogue taking place from April 2 to 30 at the Angondjé stadium in the north of Libreville, to disregard selfish behaviors that are sources of the decay of Gabonese society.

“HCANEG requests all components participating in this Dialogue to refrain from individualistic behaviors that only seek to prioritize selfish and partisan interests,” urged Dr. Wenceslas Mamboundou, president of HCANEG.

HCANEG brings together all organizations of Gabonese civil society working for the promotion of rights and democracy. As a key player in the upcoming event, it has organized a “strategic retreat” scheduled to take place from March 22 to 24, 2024 in the city of Mandji in the Ngounié province (south).

During this gathering, platform members will “reflect, define, and coordinate the collective vision represented by all our organizations with the aim of building a New Gabon, culminating in progress towards happiness.”

“At the Dialogue, HCANEG will not indulge in sentimentality. We will only support proposals that align with development and the strengthening of democracy. In fact, we aim to not only be the watchdog of this new vision demanded by all our fellow citizens, but also one of the main architects of the New Gabon, alongside Gabonese men and women whose common ideal is to prioritize Gabon,” he emphasized.
