The occasion for the minister in charge of missions at the presidency of the Republic, spokesperson of the CTRI, Colonel Ulrich Manfoumbi Manfoumbi, and the minister of Communication, government spokesperson, Laurence Ndong, to consider the perspectives especially after these long-awaited national meetings.
Considered “historical” by many Gabonese who are expecting a lot from it, the Inclusive National Dialogue, scheduled to last throughout the month of April, should put collective interests at the center of discussions and work for solutions that correspond to the realities experienced by the country in recent years and prevent any future deviations. The objective is to renew Gabon, restore the dignity of Gabonese people and its institutions, which will involve several phases after these meetings.
Discussing the perspectives and timetable of the Transition after the National Dialogue, the spokesperson of the CTRI emphasized that the objectives are clear: to build a renewed Gabon, deeply democratic and fair for all. In this regard, Colonel Ulrich Manfoumbi Manfoumbi indicated that the Transition timetable, meticulously designed, symbolizes the CTRI’s commitment to achieve major transformations through a process that is both inclusive and transparent.
The main milestones on this journey towards a better future rest especially on the long-awaited Inclusive National Dialogue by the national and international community. “It is crucial for the Transition, uniting all Gabonese voices so that our future Constitution captures the diversity and aspirations of the people,” he said.
“As of early June,” he continued, “we will witness the transformation of the Parliament into a Constituent Assembly, which, 3 months later, must present the first draft of the Constitution, to be definitively validated two months later, at the end of October, so that the months of November and December 2024 can be reserved for the referendum. “A referendum that we have not seen in this country for 30 years since the last one was in 1995,” he observed.
According to the CTRI spokesperson, “the path to happiness is paved with ambitions, dialogue, and commitments.” “And it is together, guided by a spirit of solidarity and determination, that we will write the next chapter of our national history. A chapter where Gabon stands proud and strong, driven by values of freedom, justice, and prosperity for all.”
