In a statement published this Friday, the former presidential candidate in 2016 suspects the CTRI of favoring the positioning of special delegates as candidates in the upcoming local elections in the constituencies they are in charge of.

The neo-activist of the Movement for National Recovery (MORENA) provides as proof the fact that, apart from the military, almost all of these appointed special delegates are known political actors and natives of their respective areas of exercise.

According to him, this position gives them a certain advantage over other candidates. The possibility, for delegates in office, to use public resources for personal, electoral and political purposes seems inevitable to him. He warns that the dice may be loaded in advance.

For reasons of fairness, equality, and ethics, and to allow all candidates to participate in this election on an equal footing, Dieudonné Minlama Mintogo therefore asks the CTRI to “depoliticize the special delegations after dialogue, excluding political actors and entrusting the management of local authorities exclusively to the defense and security forces that are not intended to take part in elections.”
