The multi-sport association Stade Mandji held its ordinary general assembly in order to redefine new strategies for the radiant development of sports within this stable attached to the municipality of Port-Gentil. During this ordinary general assembly, which took place after several years of absence, the outgoing board led by Maurice Nzigou Mihindou presented the material and financial balance sheet of Aso Stade Mandji.

Although the material balance sheet received the agreement of all participants during the vote, it is clear that the financial balance sheet was widely contested by the majority of the heads of the different sports sections. Some of them denounced certain tricks that tarnished the reputation of this football club, caused by several technical and material shortcomings. Indeed, to this day, this club with football, basketball, handball, and judo sections is looking for several million CFA francs that have disappeared into thin air towards an unknown destination. Zero francs in the cash register is the current financial situation of the club dear to the municipality of Port-Gentil.

“There have been shortcomings, but perfection is not of this world; I hope that everything that has been said will allow Stade Mandji to solve its problems and that the mistakes will not be repeated,” said Marie Claire Ogoula Ozoume, president of the Management Committee Marie Claire Ogoula Ozoumé.

Currently, the leaders, technical staff, and athletes of all sections criticize the poor quality sports equipment, unpaid bonuses and salaries, a management focused on the interests of the former board, and financial plots among the members of the outgoing board.

“I attend training sessions every day, the athletes drink tap water that we do not drink in our homes. The new board of directors should not only think about their interests,” urges Stéphane Retoa Eya, head of the basketball section.

Embezzlements are at the origin of this tension currently looming over Stade Mandji. Not a single section is spared from this lack of financial resources.

For the head coach of the men’s football section, Alain Mandrault, “what is being said loudly is a bit the result of the president not listening. I would like our debts to be taken into account, we have worked for over a year and it’s not a gift.”
