In Ogooué-Ivindo, the Committee for the Transition and Restoration of Institutions (CTRI) has chosen Rita Estelle Milagolo as the special delegate of the municipality of Makokou. This 42-year-old young entrepreneur was installed on February 20 by the Minister of the Interior, Herman Immongault, replacing Guy Roger Ekazama in the position with the mission of restoring the image of this locality.
Appointed on February 16, 2024 as the special delegate of the municipality of Makokou in the Ogooué-Ivindo province, Rita Estelle Milagolo was installed on February 20, 2024 by the Minister of the Interior, Hermann Immongault in the multipurpose hall of this locality, which was packed for the occasion. This shows the population’s endorsement of the personality and values embodied by this young entrepreneur, whose trajectory is truly inspiring.
After expressing deep gratitude to the President of the Transition, General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema for the trust placed in her, Rita Estelle Milagolo presented the main points of her action plan, focused on transparency and citizen participation, along with concrete projects to improve the lives of the inhabitants and promote the economic and social development of the area.
Who is Rita Estelle Milagolo?
At the age of 42, Rita Estelle Milagolo, who bears the heavy responsibility of running the affairs of the municipality of the provincial capital of Ogooué-Ivindo, is well known in the locality for her remarkable and constant involvement in the economic and cultural life of the city of Makokou.
Economically, she has been the owner of the Wamy Residence Hotel and a restaurant in Makokou since 2012. Last year, she opened a fast-food restaurant in Akanda and is also the head of a service company: Wamy Services. In terms of culture and community involvement, she has been the Gabon representative of the international NGO RCK since 2017, working on the knowledge and promotion of the cultural heritage of the Kwélé people, established in Gabon, Cameroon, and Congo.
The replacement of the former mayor, Guy Roger Ekazama, holds a high school diploma in the B series and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration obtained in 2008. Her first professional experience was with the company Nouvelle Air Affaire Gabon. As a co-candidate in the last legislative elections, the new special delegate of the municipality of Makokou served in 2023 at the Prime Minister’s Office as a cabinet attachment. She is the only woman appointed by the CTRI as a special delegate at the head of a provincial capital and the first woman to lead the destiny of this city since 1975.
