Taking stock of the day’s work within the committees and sub-committees, in his traditional press briefing on Tuesday, the spokesperson of the inclusive national dialogue, Mgr Jean Bernard Asseko Mve, indicated that work will be suspended on Wednesday to resume on Thursday, April 11 at the usual times.
In his communication, the spokesperson for the Angondjé meeting justified this break by the fact that Wednesday, April 10 is declared a public holiday, in celebration of the end of Ramadan by the Muslim community.
Jean Bernard Asseko Mve nevertheless shed some light on certain data from the progress of the work over the past 48 hours, particularly within two (2) of the four (4) sub-committees of the economic commission.
This concerns the employment sub-committee where “commissioners are debating notably the emergency plan to be put in place within 5 years, regarding full employment for all and the means of promoting entrepreneurial culture in Gabon. This will be based on the development of a public policy on employment,” he informed.
At the same time, and still within the employment sub-committee, delegates “are focusing on measures to be implemented to improve the labor code in the Gabonese Republic, as well as on the establishment and definition of a policy for recruiting public officials,” it was learned.
In the same economic commission, the agriculture and environment sub-committee “has addressed the themes of pollution and waste management on one hand and the issues related to urban environment and local development on the other hand,” said Mgr Jean Bernard Asseko Mve.
More than six hundred (600) delegates, coming from Gabon and the diaspora, are divided into twelve (12) sub-committees under the supervision of three (3) commissions: political, economic, and social. The reports from all commissions must be validated by April 24 at the latest, before the adoption of the general report of the work between April 25 and 27, 2024.
The closure of the inclusive national dialogue is scheduled for April 30, 2024 at the Palais des Sports in Libreville.
