Apparently blocked by the former Minister of the Interior who had signed it in 2023, the document officially recognizing the Patriotic Alliance (AP), a party founded by the current Prime Minister of the Transition, was finally returned to him. Named in the aftermath, its interim president, Emmanuel Edou-Eyene, is already considering organizing the very first congress.

Unlike other political parties claiming to oppose Ali Bongo, the Patriotic Alliance (AP) had not been “lucky” enough to obtain its receipt after its creation. It is undoubtedly due to the fact that its main founder, the current Prime Minister of the Transition, Raymond Ndong Sima, belonged to the hardline opposition to the regime. Today, it is finally done.
Last week, the young party received from the Ministry of the Interior the document confirming its official recognition, reports L’Union. The newspaper, which consulted it, specifies that the document was issued in 2023 and bears the signature of Lambert-Noël Matha, former Minister of the Interior. It would likely have been deliberately withheld by the supporters of the fallen regime to prevent Raymond Ndong Sima, a candidate in the general elections of August 2023, from deploying peacefully throughout the country.
With its official recognition obtained, the AP registered the appointment, on March 6th, of its interim president in the person of Emmanuel Edou-Eyene, holder of a Master’s degree in economics, and tax inspector. The former mayor of Bitam (Woleu-Ntem) intends to make his party thrive, first through its participation in the future national dialogue.
“We must project ourselves into the future by preparing for the first ordinary congress in 2025 and actively preparing for the general elections after the Transition,” hinted the new leader of the Patriotic Alliance, whose support for the CTRI and its program, is said to be without question. Which is only logical.
