After several leaders before him, the Member of the Political Bureau (MBP) of the Gabonese Democratic Party (PDG) so far, Franck Nguema, has, slammed the door of the former ruling party for, he says, personal reasons.

“After several months of observation and reflection, I hereby resign from the Gabonese Democratic Party (PDG) for personal reasons,” notified in his resignation letter, Franck Nguema, to the Secretary General of the PDG, Angélique Ngoma.

On March 24, it was MBP Léandre Nzue who announced his resignation. He said he no longer felt represented in this party whose “governance is becoming chaotic”.

A leadership crisis now reigns within the PDG. The removal of the party’s president, Ali Bongo Ondimba, and the establishment of a new steering committee were done in total confusion, in blatant violation of the statutes, denounced Me Francis Nkea, another party member who filed a complaint with the Constitutional Court.
