Thrown into prison and mercilessly removed from the Republican Guard (GR) for accusations of spying in favor of Jean Ping in 2017 and defamation against the former First Lady, Sylvia Bongo Ondimba, Adjutant Hugues Otha has decided to break the silence after 7 years of suffering.

The military, who has probably well assimilated his survival training, has decided to break the silence because he is now entitled to claim his retirement rights after being prematurely retired without authorization to enjoy the associated rights.

Hugues Otha will receive his first retirement allowance at the end of April 2024. For this happy occasion, the now former military man has decided to thank God. He invites his parents, friends, and acquaintances to a thanksgiving mass this Friday, April 5th at 5 pm at the Saint André des Trois neighborhood church in Libreville.

According to his account to Gabonactu.com, during the last 7 years, he has lived in forced unemployment, poverty, destitution, in short, agony. The abrupt halt of his promising military career was a more than painful ordeal for his family and himself.

His case made a lot of noise but was quickly forgotten because everyone was afraid of suffering the same fate or the same ordeal.

Adjutant Hugues Otha was arrested and imprisoned for the first time from September 12th to November 11th, 2017. He was suspected of being an informant and pawn of Jean Ping, the radical opponent to the regime of Ali Bongo Ondimba.

This courteous and affable military man returned to jail from February 19th to March 4th, 2020. This time he was suspected of defaming the former First Lady, Sylvia Bongo Ondimba.

It was the crime of lese-majesty too many, which earned him a revocation without any other form of trial. He was immediately retired with deferred enjoyment, that is, when he reached the age to claim his retirement rights.

Revocation authorized by decision of the Minister of National Defense dated December 28th, 2017, on the grounds of having a private or service behavior discreditable to the Republican Guard, he said.

All appeals and requests to the “gods” of the time did not prosper, he regretted being considered a traitor, an indiscreet person, to be classified in the category of anti-systems and quickly banned.

With retirement age approaching and finding himself in perfect health, Hugues Otha will finally taste the delights of his first retirement allowance at the end of April 2024 and regain his dignity as a man and father.

He is radiant, smiling, and dreams of reuniting with his loved ones and friends on April 5th at the mass in his honor at 5 pm.
