With the main objective of reducing the Gabonese Democratic Party (PDG) to its simplest form in the next general elections, the president of Ensemble for the Republic, Dieudonné Minlama Mintogo, received on Monday, March 18, the membership forms for Morena, the party in which he has decided to continue his political struggle.
In continuation of his political return, the president of Ensemble for the Republic, Dieudonné Minlama Mintogo, received on Monday, March 18, 2024 the membership forms for the National Rectification Movement (Morena) from Samuel Mendou, its president.
“On March 16, I made a historic decision to join Morena to continue my political fight. I have given a goal to this fight. A goal in the very short term to reduce the PDG to its simplest form through the general elections that will be organized. This goal that we want to achieve, we will not achieve it alone,” declared Dieudonné Minlama Mintogo.
According to the former presidential candidate in 2016, the objective is to ensure that in 2025, the Gabonese Democratic Party (PDG) has zero representatives in the National Assembly, in the Senate, in local authorities, as well as in the presidency of the Republic. “We will not sleep, we have something important to do. As I said, the beast is not dead, the beast is there, it is organizing, it has played tricks, it has come back. We must bring it down once and for all,” he said, while recalling that this beast was uncovered by Morena in 1981. “Morena, in 1981, launched the fight for the democratization of Gabon. In 1990, the second stage, led us to multipartism. It is quite normal that the fight for alternation must end with Morena,” Mintogo stated.
This membership comes after meetings with the “guardians of the temple” of this party, in order to learn about everything that is done inside. The new member of Morena, the historic party that awakened the consciousness of Gabon in 1981, will have to start discussions with the members of this party in order to also contribute his part. This will better prepare for the post-transition period. The membership forms will be sent to the various branches of the Ensemble for the Republic movement and will be distributed to sympathizers and members. An official ceremony to sign these membership forms will take place before the national and international community.
