The president of the Egyptian Institute of Astronomical and Geophysical Research confirmed that the first day of Sha’ban (شعبان) 1445 H. will astronomically be Sunday, 11/02/2024, according to astronomical calculations.
With a projected duration of 30 days for the month of Sha’ban 1445 H., its last day, called the day of Observation (يوم الرؤية), will be Sunday, 10 March 2024. Notably, the crescent moon of Sha’ban 2024 appeared just after the conjunction that occurred on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 10:54 PM (Cairo time).
Astronomical calculations also predict the beginning of the month of Ramadan 1445 H. The crescent moon of Ramadan 1445 H. will be born just after the conjunction scheduled for Sunday, 10 March 2024 at 11:02 AM (Cairo time), marking the day of observation.
This crescent moon will be visible for 12 minutes after sunset on Sunday, 10 March 2024 in Cairo and in Arab and Islamic capitals. Thus, the month of Ramadan 1445 H. will begin on 11 March 2024.
These data correspond to the scientific data declared by the French Council of Muslim Worship (CFCM) on February 14, 2024. According to these data, the conjunction of the new moon of Ramadan 1445H will take place on 10 March 2024 at 10:00 AM (Paris time).
According to the calculation criteria adopted by the CFCM in 2013, the visibility of the new moon will be possible on the same day, particularly in the American continent. Also, the French Council of Muslim Worship (CFCM) announces that: “Monday, 11 March 2024 is the first day of Ramadan of the year 1445H.”
