If he regretted that his political party coalition, PG 41, was not invited to the upcoming talks, Me Louis Gaston Mayila, president of the UPNR, still hopes that their proposals for a new Gabon will be taken into account.

Like other political party coalitions from the former majority or opposition, the PG 41 platform is not included in the list of 542 participants in the upcoming Inclusive National Dialogue, which already includes 140 legally recognized political parties, in addition to political actors invited by the Committee for the Transition and Restoration of Institutions (CTRI). Advocates for postponing these meetings due to the shortcomings they have recently denounced, Me Louis Gaston Mayila and his colleagues met, on Wednesday, March 27, with the president of the Constitutional Court, Dieudonné Aba’a Owono, to complain about their absence from the talks scheduled for next April in Libreville.

“We, PG 41, felt a bit excluded,” regretted the president of the Union for the New Republic (UPNR) who hoped that he and his companions, “as usual,” would be “at the heart of the debate.” Clearly reassured by their interlocutor, PG 41 expressed “optimism” following this meeting during which they presented their proposals to Dieudonné Aba’a Owono for the construction of the new Gabon they aspire to.
“Just because we won’t be in the room doesn’t mean we won’t be part of the Dialogue. We will receive feedback, we will provide the necessary responses in all areas,” stated Me Louis Gaston Mayila.
