The first of these gems is the historical site Taberna, nestled in the municipality of Sidi El Yamani, in the douar Ihssaden and Ouled Rahou in Tangier. Following closely, the Menzah Madani Glaoui, located in Riad Zitoun Jdid in Marrakech, also joins the prestigious list.

But that’s not all. By decision of the Ministry of Culture, the Mosque of the Andalusians in Fes, emblem of Islamic architecture and spirituality, is also awarded this honorary distinction. Finally, the Oumara school, a witness to the educational and architectural heritage of Safi, completes this exceptional selection.

This decision is in line with Law No. 22.80 concerning the conservation of historical monuments, sites, and the registration of art and antiquities objects. According to this legislation, any property listed as national heritage benefits from strict protection. No alteration, demolition, or modification can be carried out without prior approval from the administration, six months before the start of the work.

Furthermore, subsidies may be granted to the owners of these listed properties to help them restore and preserve their valuable assets. In collaboration with the owners, the competent authority may also take care of the necessary work for the preservation and valorization of these national treasures.
