Fort Portal in clean-up drive ahead of arrival of King Oyo remains

Fort Portal City is undergoing a major clean-up and beautification exercise as residents and authorities prepare to receive the remains of the late Tooro King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, whose body is expected to arrive in Uganda on Friday.

Across major streets of the city, particularly those leading to Karuziika Palace and royal tombs where the King will be laid in state, city authorities and other stakeholders have been removing garbage, planting trees and flowers, painting walkways and improving public spaces ahead of the return of king’s remains.
