The Football Kenya Federation Premier League saw AFC Leopards continue their resurgence with a 1-0 win over Murang’a Seal, while Shabana suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat at the hands of Tusker. The action-packed weekend also featured a fiercely contested 1-1 draw between Sofapaka and FC Talanta at Kenya Police Sacco Stadium.

At Nyayo Stadium, AFC Leopards secured their fifth consecutive victory as Victor Omune scored from Vincent Mahiga’s corner kick to sink Murang’a Seal. This winning streak has seen Leopards climb to seventh position on the log with 30 points after 21 rounds of matches. Their impressive performance under the guidance of coach Tomas Trucha has shown significant improvement since their last league loss on December 10.

Meanwhile, Murang’a Seal, who had started the season strongly and were once on top of the FKF-PL standings, find themselves in 12th position with 24 points. Despite their initial success, they were unable to keep up with the tactical and experienced play of AFC Leopards.

Tusker ended their two consecutive losses with an emphatic 4-0 victory over Shabana in Homa Bay. The goals were scored by Deogratious Ojok, Ibrahim Joshua, Shaphan Oyugi, and Joseph Mwangi. This win propelled Tusker to fourth position on 34 points, while Shabana languishes in second last place with only 18 points, making their relegation seem imminent if they don’t improve in the next 13 matches.

Kariobangi Sharks secured a 2-1 win against Muhoroni Youth in Kisumu, while Nzoia Sugar recorded their fourth win of the season with a 2-1 victory over Bidco United in Thika. In a late kick-off at the same venue, Kakamega ended a string of poor results with a  2-1 win over KCB. These results showcase the competitive nature of the FKF-PL and the determination of each team to secure their positions in the standings.

The league continues to be a platform for emerging stars, with impressive individual performances contributing to the success of their respective teams. The resilience and tenacity displayed by the players are a testament to the growing talent in Kenyan football.

As the season progresses, fans can expect more thrilling matches and fierce competition as the teams battle it out for the top positions in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League.
