Facing the press on Monday, national coach Aliou Cissé discussed the upcoming match against the Beninese. He assured that he will base his next list for the June gathering on this criterion.
“We will be very attentive to playing time,” said Cissé. “There are other players in the same situation. By choosing a group of 31 players, we knew that the group was a bit disproportionate. Some players have played a lot so far and needed to be managed. There are some who have not played much or play little. It was important to call everyone back. But we know that this March group will be different from the June group,” he warned, as reported by Afrik-Foot.
“Playing time is crucial. I won’t go as far as saying that someone who doesn’t play for their club won’t be selected, but we will be very attentive to playing time because we will play two important matches against DR Congo and Mauritania where we will need everyone to be 100% ready at club level to give the necessary response and maximum effort,” added the Senegalese coach.
