Cape Verde will be represented by a team called “Team Cape Verde Blue Sharks” in an international “Street Basket 3×3” tournament in France, in an initiative by the Fidel Mendonça Foundation, former captain of the Cape Verde basketball team.
For this representation, the foundation’s mentor selected three players from the Prédio team, a team in which they play in the Santiago Sul regional league, Patrick, Gabriel Correia, and Angelito, as a way to encourage young players with titles to practice the sport.
Fidel Mendonça emphasized the idea of organizing a series of tournaments, for both male and female players, in various age groups, as a way for the champion to represent the archipelago in this 3×3 street tournament in France, with clear requirements such as fair play above all.
The “Team Cape Verde Blue Sharks” departed for France today.
