FDC presses govt on promised cancer centres after King Oyo’s death

The Opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party has askd the government to fulfil its decade-old pledge to establish regional cancer centres, saying thousands of Ugandans continue to face long journeys and limited access to specialised treatment.

In a statement condoling with Tooro Kingdom following the death of King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Rukidi IV, FDC Deputy Spokesperson Richard Muyombya Kalimagezi said the concentration of specialised cancer services in Kampala was placing an unnecessary burden on patients from other parts of the country.
