The leader of the Somaliland opposition party UCID, Faysal Ali Warabe, has criticized the position taken by the government of Djibouti in support of understanding between Somaliland and Ethiopia.
The chairman has issued a statement in which he referred to a speech in which the Djibouti Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mahmoud Ali Yusuf, supported the understanding between Somaliland and Ethiopia.
“This is the most encouraging speech a foreign minister has made, the Djibouti government has always been biased against Somaliland’s self-determination until Somaliland became independent,” said Chairman Warabe.
Furthermore, the Somaliland government has not yet commented on the speech made by the Djibouti government.
