Ethiopian Airlines has denied reports circulating on social media, claiming that the airline has suspended flights to Somaliland and Somalia.
Ethiopian Airlines has made it clear that they have not suspended flights to Somaliland and Somalia, with the airline’s CEO stating that they do not recognize Somaliland and Somalia as airports of departure.
“We confirm that the letter circulating on social media claiming to be from Ethiopian Airlines and sent to IATA is fake. Ethiopian Airlines never writes such a letter to IATA,” the statement from the company said.
The airline has asked the BBC Amharic for a correction of a report they published, stating that the airline had suspended flights to Somaliland and Somalia due to security concerns.
