Eritrea: Eritrean Community in Sweden Holds Annual Congress – Africa Links 24

Asmara, 5 April 2024 – The Eritrean community in Sweden gathered for its annual congress on March 23 in Stockholm, focusing on the theme “Development and Revitalizing Communities.” Representatives from various Eritrean communities across Sweden attended the event.

Mr. Biniam Misgina, the chairman of the Eritrean community, highlighted the community’s long-standing commitment to organizing and empowering its members, preserving national values, actively celebrating national holidays, encouraging prosperous Eritreans to invest in their homeland, hosting important seminars, and providing guidance and consultation for parents.

Mr. Biniam pledged to continue enhancing the community’s organizational capabilities and involvement in national issues, urging members to increase their participation in these efforts.

In other news, Mr. Yohannes Teklemicael, Eritrea’s Ambassador to South Sudan, met with officials from the Western ‘Bahr el-Gazal’ region and organized a seminar for Eritreans residing in the area. During the seminar, Mr. Yohannes provided detailed updates on the development projects planned for 2024 and the current situation in Eritrea.
