Asmara, 24 March 2024 – The 8th congress of the Teachers Association in the Central Region was held on 23 March in Asmara.
Mr. Belai Habtegabir, head of the education office in the region, emphasized the importance of the National Teachers Association as a leading professional association in the country, bringing together experienced and young teachers. He encouraged the association to create sustainable training programs to enhance teachers’ abilities and improve the teaching-learning process.
Mr. Afwerki Gebrezgiabihier, chairman of the Teachers Association in the Central Region, urged participants to assess strengths and challenges thoroughly and actively contribute to achieving the association’s goals.
During the congress, participants discussed administrative and financial reports, adopting various recommendations. They also elected an executive committee to serve a four-year term.
Mr. Simon Mehari, chairman of the National Teachers Association, urged the newly elected executive committee members to work diligently and dedicatedly towards fulfilling the association’s objectives.
