Eritrea: Concert in connection with 30th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations – Africa Links 24

Asmara, April 5, 2024 – The “Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Black Sea Fleet” performed at Cinema Roma on April 4 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Eritrea and Russia. Ministers, senior government officials, and PFDJ members were in attendance.

Ambassador Zemede Tekle, Commissioner of Culture and Sports, highlighted the event as a means to strengthen the bond between Eritrea and the Russian Federation.

The Russian Pacific Fleet frigate, Marshal Shaposhnikov, concluded its port call in Massawa on March 28 after marking the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Eritrea.

The farewell ceremony was attended by Ms. Asmeret Abraha, Governor of the Northern Red Sea Region; Col. Melake Teklemariam, Chief of Staff of the Eritrean Naval Force; and Mr. Dawit Mengisteab, General Manager of the Massawa and Assab Port Authority.
