Enugu Rangers will be one of the teams competing in the national finals of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Youth league’s national finals at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin. They secured their spot in the finals by winning the Southeast zonal play-off, which included Enyimba, Heartland, and Abia Warriors’ youth teams. Enugu Rangers earned seven points from their three matches at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu, with second-placed Heartland earning six points, Abia Warriors with two points, and Enyimba with only one point.
Remo Stars and Plateau United also secured their spots in the national finals. Remo Stars recorded nine points in the three games played at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, while Plateau United qualified on superior goal difference from the Lafia centre. Plateau United and Lobi Stars ended the contest at the Lafia Centre on the same seven points, but Plateau United took the ticket due to their superior goal difference.
Katsina United and Rivers United also earned their places in the national finals. Katsina won the Kaduna centre with seven points, followed by Doma United with six points. Rivers United secured the South-South ticket with seven points after three days of competition at the Port Harcourt centre.
The national finals are set to take place at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin, with the draw scheduled for February 12. The playoffs will run from February 13 to 17 and will feature an exciting display of talent from the top youth teams in the country.
